Controller

The Controller position presents an opportunity for a reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented team player to join our dynamic and growing CPA firm to perform most financial and personnel-related responsibilities, as follows:

  • Payment processing
  • Daily monitoring of bank accounts/overseeing daily deposit
  • Weekly cash reporting
  • Monthly journal entries, bank account reconciliations, financial statements, and other reporting
  • Payroll processing and reporting
  • Benefits administration and enrollment
  • New hire onboarding and orientation
  • Compliance – Sec. 125 Plan, 401(k) Plan
  • Insurance applications
  • Renewal of dues and licenses – CPA, PTIN, AICPA, FICPA, City and County BTRs
  • Liaison with vendors
  • Special projects and reporting as requested

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA is a plus but not required
  • Experience in a professional services environment is a plus but not required
  • Ability to support firm personnel at all levels
  • Ability to plan own schedule and work effectively with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and follow through with deadline requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple, high-priority items in an effective manner

Business Advisory Services – Senior Manager/Manager

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance along with advanced certifications such as the CPA/ABV, ASA, CFA, CVA, CFE, or CFF designations. Responsibilities and candidate attributes include:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the field of business valuation.
  • Managing multiple valuation projects. Will potentially work on M&A due diligence projects as well.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret results
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems and effectively communicate the solutions to client management
  • Preparation of complex financial models
  • Draft or review Valuation and/or Quality of Earnings reports.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills. The ability to develop senior analysts and staff is required. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.  A demonstrated ability to network and bring in new business to grow the practice is a plus. Travel to clients (10% – 15%) may be required.

Compensation will be commensurate with market rates. 100% remote work will be considered for the right candidate.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance at a minimum. MBA and/or CPA preferred. Responsibilities and candidate attributes include:

  • Taking the day-to-day lead on valuation and/or M&A due diligence engagements.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret results
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Preparation of historical trend analysis
  • Preparation of financial projections
  • Prepare initial draft of Valuation and Quality of Earnings reports

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills along with the ability to work both independently and as part of an engagement team.  Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Travel to clients (10% – 15%) may be required.

Audit Manager

Audit Managers will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Directing work of the engagement team
  • Overseeing team projects
  • Performing assessments and offering solutions to clients
  • Conducting research and planning and making recommendations to senior management
  • Identifying and recommending new business opportunities for the firm
  • Reviewing auditing reports and management letters

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal, technology, communication, and analytical skills. This position reports to the Audit Partners. Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 4 to 5 years of public accounting experience, preferably in a middle-market environment. CPA designation is required. Proficiency with CCH Engagement is a plus!

Audit Senior

Audit Seniors will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Executing the audit/assurance process
  • Preparing the audit for approval; including timeline, budget, scheduling, resources required, and drafting financial statements
  • Encompass developing management letters
  • Reviewing and/or preparing audit work papers
  • Supervising/training staff

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, technology, communication, and project management skills and should also possess and have demonstrated competent knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards and techniques. CPA designation or actively pursuing a CPA license is required. Proficiency with Engagement is a plus! 100% remote work will be considered for the right candidate.

  • Reviewing the adequacy of systems and testing to verify the accuracy of data provided
  • Preparing audit work papers

  • Overseeing the tax practice area and staff
  • Assisting partners with business development
  • Managing client relationships and expectations
  • Researching practice area issues and providing guidance to partners and other management

The ideal candidate will possess very strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, business development, and problem solving skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, prefer Master’s and at least 8 years of public accounting experience, preferably in a middle-market environment. CPA designation is required. Proficiency with ProSystems Tax, Fixed Assets and Engagement a plus! 100% remote work will be considered for the right candidate.

Tax Manager

Tax Managers will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Ability to identify tax consulting opportunities
  • Willing to market services to existing and prospective clients
  • Managing all tax compliance aspects of clients
  • Knowledge of S Corps and partnership tax issues
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Ability to interpret technical issues and apply that knowledge effectively

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a public accounting environment, creative problem solving skills, strong technical background, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred Masters but not required, with at least 4 – 5 years of public accounting experience, preferably in a middle-market environment. CPA designation is required. Tax Senior

Tax Seniors will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing complex federal and state tax returns for diverse industry clients
  • Reviewing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts
  • Communicating with audit team and clients in order to gather tax return information
  • Training/supervising staff
  • Developing tax planning opportunities and projections for clients
  • Researching federal and international tax issues; researching, analyzing, and reviewing state and federal tax notices

Tax Staff

Tax Staff will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing tax returns
  • Planning and tax research for pass-through entities
  • Handling IRS and State Tax notices and disputes, C-corps, and individuals at a federal and state level

Seeking a candidate that either possesses CPA designation or is working toward a CPA accreditation. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

Tax Intern

Tax Interns will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing tax returns and related work papers for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and Limited Liability Companies
  • Some tax research will be required

Working towards a Bachelor’s in accounting. Must have completed Tax I.

Accounting Paraprofessional

Accounting Paraprofessionals will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Possessing strong QuickBooks proficiency
  • General bookkeeping experience, and an understanding of Balance Sheets, Trial Balances, Profit & Loss, General Ledger Accounts, and Journalizing Transactions
  • Preparation of tax returns
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a variety of roles

Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A degree in accounting and tax preparation experience or the ability to learn is preferred.
